Abstract
Sposobnost izražavanja i kontroliranja vlastitih emocija je vrlo važna, uključujući i razumijevanje, tumačenje i reagiranje na tuđe emocije. Psiholozi su sposobnosti razumijevanja i reagiranja na emocije nazvali emocionalnom inteligencijom, a neki stručnjaci čak sugeriraju da je ona mnogo važnija od samog kvocjenta inteligencije, osobito u poslovnom svijetu. Kroz detaljna i dugogodišnja istraživanja pokazalo se da su osobe s većom emocionalnom inteligencijom, u pravilu, puno uspješnije od osoba kod kojih ove osobine nisu razvijene. Pojam emocionalne inteligencije povukao je za sobom mnoge rasprave, te je to često tema oko koje se „lome koplja“ znanstvenika i praktičara psihologije. Većina psihologa se slaže da tradicionalne definicije inteligencije nedostaje uključivanje ljudskih sposobnosti koje su neizmjerno važne u načinu na koji „inteligentno“ živimo svoj život. Te da je sposobnost spoznaje vlastitih emocija, integracije emocija i misli, razumijevanja emocija i reguliranja emocija važna za rast i razvoj pojedinca. Kroz rasprave i literaturu pokazalo se kako je emocionalna inteligencija važnija od stručnosti i kvocjenta inteligencije želi li se uspjeti u poslovanju.

The ability to express and control one's emotions is very important, including the understanding, interpretation and response to other people's emotions. Ability to understand and respond to the emotions psychologists called emotional intelligence, and some experts even suggest that it is more important than the intelligence quotient, especially in the business world. Through detailed and long-time research its has shown that people with higher emotional intelligence, as a rule, are much more successful than the person in whom these qualities are not developed. The concept of emotional intelligence gave rise to a lot of debates, and this is often a topic between scientists and practitioners of psychology. Most psychologists agree that traditional definitions of intelligence lacks the inclusion of human abilities that are extremely important in the way in which we "intelligently" our lifes. And that the ability to know their own emotions, integration of emotions and thoughts, to understand emotions and to regulate emotions is important for the growth and development of the individual. Through discussion and literature has been shown that emotional intelligence is more important for business success than expertise and intelligence quotient.
